wipe out the defecit; but the Canadian killed that momentum; Campbell took over and turned aside all 12 shots he faced.

It's possible the writer of this article - "Heart-breaking loss for Canada" on 24H Vancouver online on January 6, 2010 - had defecate on the mind after writing wipe, but defecit is not a suitable substitute for deficit. In fact, defecit is not even a word in the English language. And then,

the first Canadian here should be Canadians. But wait, there's more! It's the best of the bunch!

American goalie Jack Campbell did indeed take over (from starter Mike Lee early in the second period), but that's the only correct part of that short sentence. 24H Vancouver is claiming that Campbell faced 12 shots and stopped them all to record 12 saves, but in reality Campbell faced 34 shots and saved 32. 24H Vancouver, can you explain the discrepancy in these numbers? Your numbers aren't just a little off, they're grossly inaccurate. The least anyone could do is correct the editable online article. Are you there, Scott Fisher?
