Elena Bodnar's bra can can turn into
This error might be the result of the writer (of "One pair (By the numbers)" in today's 24 hours Vancouver) associating bras with the cancan dance.

Teen dies after brutal Delta park assault remembered
This headline that appeared on the 24 hours Vancouver homepage on September 28, 2010, doesn't make sense. It makes me think that a teen was reminiscing about someone who was assaulted in a Delta park, and then the teen who was reminiscing passed away soon after the reminiscing ended.

after 1:30; targetted assault; The Szendrei family has asked from privacy as they grieve.
She was found on Saturday, but was it after 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 a.m.? Of course, the former would also cover the latter - perhaps just could be put immediately in front of after - but other news outlets have stated the attack was in broad daylight, so p.m. it is. From "Teen dies after brutal Delta park assault" on 24 hours Vancouver online on September 27, 2010. Later in the article,
it's another instance of a writer for 24 hours Vancouver misspelling targeted. A spell check would have caught that. Finally,
the writer has asked for privacy as he grieves the loss of a proofreader.

The writer (of "How to start a job search" in today's 24 hours Vancouver) should have either moved either to in front of the first have or eliminated the second have. Also,
business card should be business cards. As for social clubs, I'm pretty sure the first be is supposed to be meet. How does that go unnoticed during a proofreading?

Tim Horton's
Tim Hortons must not be a favourite local haunt for this writer (of "New Facebook app Places out in Canada" on Yahoo! Canada News on September 24, 2010), otherwise he'd know - or care enough to check - that Tim Hortons doesn't have an apostrophe. It's in the article's first sentence, and it's still there as I write this at 10:30 p.m. PT on September 26, 2010.

a realy-TV twist; latenight shooting; targetted
These were the top two stories on the 24 hours Vancouver homepage on September 21, 2010. No doubt realy-TV is really supposed to be reality-TV, latenight shooting should be late-night shooting, and targetted has one T too many - the correct spelling is targeted.

star of movies such as "The Wedding Planner"; after a four year ratings decline; We are 10 years-old; star of movies like "The Wedding Planner"
There's nothing wrong with this sentence from "Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez join revamped American Idol" on Yahoo! Canada News on September 22, 2010, but remember that Lopez is the star of movies such as "The Wedding Planner". Moving on,
there needs to be a hyphen in four-year ratings decline, and
the hyphen in We are 10 years-old needs to be removed. Finally,
remember how Lopez is the star of movies like "The Wedding Planner"? I guess Yahoo! just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten.

Mayim's last name is actually Bialik. Is Blossom the name of the city where Bialik lives? No, it's a television show and should be either in quotation marks or italicized. A lot of writers rely on both spell check and proofreading to keep their work error-free, but this writer (of "8 Obscure Rules From the World of Sports" on mental_floss online on April 28, 2009) skipped either both or just the proofreading. Try should be dry. Click the image to enlarge it.

Okay, the writers at 24 hours Vancouver must have something against the current MLA for North Vancouver-Seymour. Earlier this year, Jane Thornthwaite's last name was butchered a couple of times. This time - in today's "MLAs in Survivor mode" - the butchering level has been upped significantly; as you can see, a three-letter additional syllable has been added to Jane's last name.

Hand Painted Frig Magnet
This image was provided by my hasn't-blogged-lately friend Cher. She writes, "it was really funny to me, because this is this guy's living! They are tacky and I wouldn't have bought one anyway, but FRIG magnets? REALLY???" I wrote it before and I'll write it again: this is friggin' great! There should also be a hyphen in Hand-Painted, and an S at the end of Magnet - he is selling more than one magnet, after all. Thanks again, Cher!
