I really, truly don't understand how a newspaper can continually print nonexistent words. A spell checker won't catch all misspellings (then for than, for example), but it will catch errors that result in words that don't exist! The word is weakened. Also, either during should be removed or there is at least one missing word after it. From "By the numbers" in yesterday's 24 hours Vancouver.
