Owen, pictured,

-- "Owen, Keener to start in Trust" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 16, 2009

If you're gonna write that someone is pictured, you should probably have a picture. If you're gonna "borrow" text from a source that did include a picture, but you're not going to include a picture, you should probably check to make sure that there is no reference to the picture in the text.

Mikael Samuelsson

-- "'nuck talk" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 20, 2009

Mikael Samuelsson may have been the first star according to 24 hours, but that doesn't mean he'll get his name spelled correctly.

opens tomorrow night; Game 1 features a reunion of former Cleveland Indians rotation mates in lefty Cliff Lee...; an power-popping infield

From the article "Not a bad matchup" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 28, 2009, we find incorrect information given to the reader about when the first game of the World Series takes place. It should read tonight, not tomorrow night. Which is to say it was actually on October 28, not the 29th as the writer seemed to think. I'm excited to watch Game 6 tomorrow night - see how that's done, 24 hours? I just gave correct information to all the readers (barring a rainout). Then, more problems:

WTF? That's a fact-filled sentence that needs some more punctuation, or perhaps an extensive rewrite into multipel sentences. Another error:

Power does not begin with a vowel sound - not even close - so turn an into a.

H. SEDINS

-- "No stopping Wings" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 28, 2009

There are two Sedins - twins, in fact - but only one H. Sedin.

How can you not love autumn with it's crisp air and - RAIN!

-- Front page weather box in Vancouver 24 hours on October 15, 2009

I have a related question: How can you not love 24 hours with its apostrophe errors and absence of question marks at the end of questions? Of course, 24 hours features many different types of errors as well, but the two specific ones I mentioned are present above.

Const. Lindsay Houghton

who is accused, with Millowe Brost a an alleged $400-million scheme

-- "Lawyer steps down" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 20, 2009

Add an apostrophe after Brost and remove the single-letter word a (it's always a or an, never both) and then I may begin to think about taking you seriously as a journalist.

Peter Saarsguard; Peter Saarsgard

-- "Late night (Television)" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 30, 2009

Seeing a U in Peter's last name didn't look right, so I first went to The Hour's website to see how they had it spelled.

I then did a Google search and found that there is no well-known individual named Peter Saarsguard. Nor is there one named Peter Saarsgard. There is, however, a Peter Sarsgaard - an actor who's been in many movies over the past dozen years.

George Stroumboulopoulis

-- "Late night (Television)" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 21, 2009

George! They're doing it to you again!

According to someone who's business is built around terror

-- "Fear a lucrative business" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 30, 2009

According to someone who is business is built around terror? No, it should be whose business.

Drew Bress

-- ESPN Streak for the Cash on November 2, 2009

I can guarantee you that Drew Bress will get zero touchdowns. Drew Brees on the other hand...

How do young Hollywood heartthrob's live when they're filming in Vancouver?

-- "Efron lived in style at Grace" in Vancouver 24 hours on November 2, 2009

This is the article's opening sentence/paragraph. After seeing that incorrect apostrophe in the simple plural heartthrobs, would you keep reading?

see Canaan try to force Mike

-- "Amazing Race (Abby willingly takes her journey home)" in Vancouver 24 hours on October 30, 2009

Do NOT make mistakes when writing about my favorite show. Canaan's partner was Mika.
