The car battery gave up the ghost in a grocery store parking lot - with the truck full of groceries, of course.

This article - 24H Vancouver's "Relaxation is now a thing of the past" on January 13, 2010 - has me confused. I just don't understand what a car's battery and a truck full of groceries have to do with each other. Truck should probably be trunk, of course.
